According to Benjamin H. Freedman, Jewish Historian, researcher and scholar, "Christians have been duped by the unholiest hoax in all history, by so-called Jews. This is considered their most effective weapon." ("Common Sense", p. 2-1-53 and 5-1-59) "This 'big lie' technique is brainwashing Christians into believing that Jesus Christ was "King of the Jews", in the sense that so-called 'Jews' today call themselves 'Jews'. This reference was first made in English translations of the Old and New Testaments, centuries before the so-called Jews highjacked the word 'Jew' in the 18th century A.D. to palm themselves off on the Christian world as having a kinship with Jesus Christ. This alleged kinship comes from the myth of their common ancestry with the so-called 'Jews' of the Holy Land in the Old Testament history, a fiction based on fable."
Speaking to His elect Church Jesus said, "I know your affliction and your poverty, but you have heavenly riches, and I know the blasphemy of them who say they are Jews (Judeans of the House of Judah - Ed.), and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan . . . Take note, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, but are impostors who lie, to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you" (Revelation 2:9; 3:9). Speaking to the so-called Jews who were of the sect of the Pharisees (or Judaism) Jesus said, "You serpents, offspring of vipers, how can you escape being sentenced to hell fire? Therefore take notice, I will send you prophets, and wise men, and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify; and some of whom you will flog in your synagogues, and persecute from town to town, that upon you may come all the righteous blood that has been shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. I assure you, all these things shall come upon this race" (Matthew 23:33-36).
Jesus identified these so-called Jews as the descendants of Cain.
Who was the First Jew?We know that Saul was the first king of Israel and that John was the first man called Baptist, but who was the first Jew? Neither Adam, Seth or Noah are called Jew. Nor were Abraham, Isaac or Jacob. Moses was not called a Jew and neither were Saul, David or Solomon called Jew. In fact you will not find the word Jew in the first eleven books of the Bible. The first time Jews are mentioned in the Bible, is in II Kings 16:6 (and then only in translations revised in the eighteenth century) where we find Israel was at war with the Jews and drave the Jews from Elath. It is interesting to note that in the very first mention of the word 'Jew' in the Bible makes it clear that the Jews and Isreal are two different peoples as one drives the other out!
Isn't it also interesting that we can read over five hundred pages of the Bible before we find a Jew anywhere, yet those who call themselves Jew today claim the first five books of the bible and call it their Torah. Do you not find it rather strange that those who claim to have written the first five books of the Bible and call themselves Jew, can't find the word Jew written anywhere in the book they call their own bible, and claim to have not only written but written about themselves? Jesus Christ tells John in Revelation 2:9 "I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not, but are the SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN". We know that God changed the name of Abram to Abraham in Genesis 17:5, and that He changed the name of Jacob to Israel in Genesis 32:28, but nowhere in the Bible do we find where God changed the name of Israel to Jew. There is therefore no authority by which those who say they are Jews can claim to be also Israel.
The people that are referred to as Jews in our Bibles today were not called Jews in the origin texts. They were referred to as Ioudaios and Iudaeus. At the time of Jesus when many of these texts were written, Ioudaios and Iudaeus meant a Judean or person living in Judea, irrespective of their religious persuasion. The people of that description were in fact a mix of Judahites, Hittites, Canaanites and Edomites with the latter predominant, the ancestors of whom had lived in Judea before the Children of Israel had them removed upon their arrival in Canaan. The original King James Version of the Bible of 1611 translated Idumaean-Judean into 'Iewes' except for four Old Testament references to Idumaea that were left unchanged. That the same word is used in the original text confirms that the word translated as 'Iewes' is the same as Ioudaios and Iudaeus. The word 'Jews' was absent from the Bible until the 1769 revised edition of the King James Bible. That word does not mean Israel or Israelite. We must conclude therefore that the first "Jews" were Canaanite-Edomite-Hittite. It is certain, according to the Bible, that Jews are not Israel.
The EdomitesGenesis 25 records that Rebekah bore Isaac paternal twin sons, Esau, whose name was changed to Edom, and Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. While still in the womb the two sons of Isaac "struggled together within her." God explained this rivalry to Rebekah:
…Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder [Esau] shall serve the younger [Jacob]. (Genesis 25:23)
Soon after the two boys had grown, this promise began to find its fulfillment. Genesis 25 relates that Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of red beans. Genesis 27 relates that the patriarchal blessing also became the possession of Jacob. As a result of the subsequent bitterness and jealousy, Esau would have destroyed Jacob had God not intervened.
The struggle of nations, which began in Rebekah's womb, continued as these two boys grew to manhood, and it endures today in their modern-day descendants. Ezekiel 35:5 and Amos 1:11 speak of the Edomites' "perpetual hatred" and "wrath forever" toward Israelites. But "who is who" in this continuing struggle? It is recorded in Genesis 36 that Esau is Edom and that he was the father of the Edomites. However, most people do not know who the Edomites became. The following four witnesses, all of them Jewish, testify to the Edomites' new identity:
…in the days of John Hyrcanus (end of the second century B.C.E.) … the [non-Israelite] Edomites became a section of the Jewish people. "EDOM," Encyclopaedia Judaica (Jerusalem, Israel: Encyclopaedia Judaica Company, 1971) Vol. 6, p. 378
They [the non-Israelite Edomites] were then incorporated with the Jewish nation…. "EDOM, IDUMEA," The Jewish Encyclopedia (New York & London: Funk and Wagnalls Company, 1904) Vol. V, p. 41
…from then on they [the non-Israelite Edomites] constituted a part of the Jewish people, Herod [King of Judea] being one of their descendants. "EDOM (Idumea)," The New Standard Jewish Encyclopedia (Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1977) p. 589
…they [the Edomites] were hereafter no other than [non-Israelite] Jews. Flavius Josephus, The Antiquities of the Jews (Grand Rapids, MI: Dregel Publications, 1960) Book XIII, Chapter IX, Verse 1, p. 279
It was in the second century BC under the Hasmonean (Maccabeean) high priest John Hyrcanus (Yohanan Girhan) (reigned 134 BCE - 104 BCE, died 104 BCE) that the Edomites, who had subdued a large portion of Judea, became 'jews'. According to Jewish historian Josephus, Hyrcanus "subdued all the Idumeans; and permitted them to stay in that country, if they would circumcise their genitals, and make use of the laws of the Jews; and they were so desirous of living in the country of their forefathers, that they submitted to the use of circumcision, and of the rest of the Jewish ways of living; at which time therefore this befell them, that they were hereafter no other than Jews".
This account of the Idumeans admitting circumcision, and the entire Jewish law, from this time, or from the days of Hyrcanus, is confirmed by their entire history afterward. See Antiq. B. XIV. ch. 8. sect. 1; B. XV. ch. 7. sect. 9. Of the War, B. II. ch. 3. sect. 1; B. IV. ch. 4. sect. 5. This, in the opinion of Josephus, made them proselytes of justice, or entire Jews, as here and elsewhere, Antiq. B. XIV. ch. 8. sect. 1. However, Antigonus, the enemy of Herod, though Herod were derived from such a proselyte of justice for several generations, will allow him to be no more than a half Jew, B. XV. ch. 15. sect. 2. But still, take out of Dean Prideaux, at the year 129 AD, the words of Ammouius, a grammarian, which fully confirm this account of the Idumeans in Josephus: "The Jews," says he, "are such by nature, and from the beginning, whilst the Idumeans were not Jews from the beginning, but Phoenicians and Syrians; but being afterward subdued by the Jews, and compelled to be circumcised, and to unite into one nation, and be subject to the same laws, they were called Jews."
Dio also says, as the Dean there quotes him, from Book XXXVI. p. 37, "That country is called Judea, and the people Jews; and this name is given also to as many others as embrace their religion, though of other nations." But then upon what foundation so good a governor as Hyrcanus took upon him to compel those Idumeans either to become Jews, or to leave the country, deserves great consideration. I suppose it was because they had long ago been driven out of the land of Edom, and had seized on and possessed the tribe of Simeon, and all the southern parts of the tribe of Judah, which was the peculiar inheritance of the worshippers of the true God without idolatry, as the reader may learn from Reland, Palestine, Part I. p. 154, 305; and from Prideaux, at the years 140 and 165" (Flavius Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, XIII, 9:1).
The Old Testament prophets pronounced nothing but judgement on Idumea and its people.
Isa 34:5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
Isa 34:6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, [and] with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
Eze 35:15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, [even] all of it: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
Eze 36:5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
The Jews in Jesus' DayMany denominational Christians and even church leaders are under the mistaken belief that Jesus was a Jew. But nothing could be further from the truth. Judea and Galilee were two separate states and political entities, as illustrated on the map of Palestine in the time of our Christ in your Bible. Jesus Himself was not a Jew (Judean) or resident of Judea, He was a Galilean or resident of Galilee (Matthew 26:69; John 7:41), however, being descendent of the Tribe of Judah, he was a Judahite.
The Judeans of prominence were not of the Tribe of Judah, but of the Edomites. Pilate was being ironic when he wrote the sign "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Judeans" for the Cross (John 19:19). That is, "the Galilean who was King of the Judeans," as in "Queen Victoria of England, Empress of India." Jesus grew up in Nazareth in Galilee. His disciples were fishermen from the Sea of Galilee. And although He visited Jerusalem, he spent most of His life in his home country of Galilee. John 7:1, "After this Jesus stayed in Galilee; for He could not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him." His followers were constrained "for fear of the Jews" (John 7:13, 19:38, 20:19).
The joining of the sons of Judah with the sons of Edom was an undesirable mix. Terrible judgements against Edom are made in most of the prophecies of the Old Testament. For instance, Isaiah 34, 63, Jeremiah 49, and the entire book of Obadiah.
Isaiah 63:1-6, "Who is this coming from Edom . . . in garments stained with crimson? It is I [the Lord] who speak in righteousness and am mighty to save."
"Why are your garments red, as if you had trodden the winepress?"
"I have trodden the winepress alone: and of the people there was none to help Me. In My anger I trod them down, trampled them in My wrath. Their blood splattered My garments, and all My clothes are stained. For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come ... I will tread down the people in My anger, and bring their blood upon the ground".
These verses refer to Revelations chapter 19:11-21, when the Word of God destroys His enemies: "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse: and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True. . . His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, and He had a Name written that no man knew but Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood, and His Name is called The Word of God. . . and He trod the winepress of God's fierce anger".
Jehovah of the Old Testament "hated Esau (Edom), against whom He has indignation forever" (Malachi 1:2-4). If Jesus will destroy Edom when He returns, then Edom will still be present in that day, and obviously evil, anti-Christian, and anti-Semitic.
The Edomite, Antipater, became the Procurator of Judea in 47BC. Ten years later his son Herod actually became king of the Jews, initiating the Edomite dynasty which ruled Palestine under Roman authority for over a hundred years. The Edomite assimilation opened the way for a virtual takeover along the lines predicted by Ezekiel and stimulus for an influx of population from the arid country of Edom into the more hospitable environment of Judea, an influx obviously encouraged for political reasons by the ruling Herodian dynasty. Edomites would have been appointed to the most influential positions, in order to extend and consolidate Edomite authority over the land and its people. Herod became notorious for his massacre of infant boys two years old and under. Herod's son Herod Antipas, continuing the work, and was responsible for the gruesome murder of John the Baptist (Matthew 14:6-12).
Christ demonstrated a very real antipathy towards the people called Jews in Bibles published after about 1776, but who would be more accurately described as Judeans, or residents of the Edomite-dominated territory of Judea. Jesus said to the Jews "You do not believe because you are not of My sheep" (John 10:24-27). "I was only sent to the lost sheep of the House of Israel" (Matthew 15:24). In fact, Christ referred to "those Jews (or residents of Judea regardless of religion, race or color) who believed on him," as "of their father the devil" for although they were children of Abraham, they were not children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and heirs of the blessing of Abraham, nor did they have the faith of Abraham, and were in all probability descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Esau (John 8: 31,44). In contrast, Jesus' disciples were from Galilee of the Gentiles, not Judea (Acts 1:11; 2:7).
The Jews shouted "Crucify Him!" (John 19:15); "His blood be on us and on our children" (Matthew 27:25). In an appropriate turn about, when Jesus returns, their blood will stain His own garments. The spiritual leaders of the Jews were the Pharisees, who not surprisingly were associated with the (Edomite) Herodians (Matthew 22:15-16; Mark 3:6; 12:13). Jesus repeatedly condemned the Pharisees as "hypocrites" (Matthew 15:7; 22:18; 23:13,15,23,25,27-27). He also called them "serpents, the offspring of vipers" (Matthew 3:7; 12:34; 23:33).
"Jesus spoke to the crowds only in parables" (Matthew 13:10-17). Why was this? Many nominal churches and Sunday schools teach that Jesus used parables to make His teachings clearer. But all four Gospels say the opposite. When Jesus was asked why He spoke to them in parables, He replied "Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given" (Matthew 13:10-11; Mark 4:11-12; Luke 8:9-10; John 12:37-44).
Jesus told "those Jews who believed in Him ... You are of your father the devil, and lust for what is forbidden. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him . . . as he is a liar and the father of lies" (John 8:31-44). This characteristic is confirmed by the dictionary definition of the verb jew.
Originally, Jewish scholarship was oral. Rabbis expounded and debated the law and discussed the Bible without the benefit of written works (other than the Biblical books themselves.) This situation changed drastically, however, mainly as the result of the destruction of the Jewish commonwealth in 70 AD and the consequent upheaval of Jewish social and legal norms. As the Rabbis were required to face a new reality; mainly Judaism without a Temple and Judea without autonomy - there was a flurry of legal discourse and the old system of oral scholarship could not be maintained. It is during this period that Rabbinic discourse began to be recorded in writing as the Talmud. The KhazarsWhen Titus besieged Jerusalem in 70 AD, the Idumeans joined the Jews in rebellion against Rome. Josephus says that 20,000 Idumeans "defended" the Holy City. Once they actually entered the city, they proceeded to rob and kill, but these traitors received the same fate as the few surviving Jews when Rome took over Jerusalem. Idumea, or Edom, ceased to exist. It was the progeny of the "Jews" - predominantly the Judeans and Idumeans - who were scattered after 70 AD and who, by way of interbreeding, became part of the Khazar kingdom, which, between the seventh and ninth centuries AD, adopted their religion of Judaism.
One of many who have traced the history of the "Kingdom of the Jews" was Jewish historian Arthur Koestler in his classic, The Thirteenth Tribe. In his "History of Jews in the United States," Rabbi Levinger admits 82% of American Jews are of Asiatic descent: non-Semitic, anti-Semitic (Genesis 27:41) self-styled or so-called Jews. The wily Khazar, king Bulan, whose kingdom was sandwiched between the Muslim Caliphate and Byzantine Rome, emulated the Gibeonite strategy for political advantage when his Asian court became Talmudic Jews overnight in complete ignorance of the tenets of that religion, followed by his non-Semitic hordes of Mongolian descent.
At the peak of their power the Khazars controlled or exacted tribute from some thirty different nations and tribes inhabiting the vast territories between the Caucasus, the Aral Sea, the Ural Mountains, the town of Kiev and the Ukrainian steppes. The people under Khazar suzerainty included the Bulgars, Burtas, Ghuzz, Magyars (Hungarians), the Gothic and Greek colonies of the Crimea, Slavonic tribes in the north-western woodlands. Beyond these extended dominions, Khazar armies also raided Georgia and Armenia and penetrated into the Arab Caliphate as far as Mosul in Iraq. The Russians defeated Khazaria between the 10th and 11th centuries and inherited most of their lands.
Modern Day JewsAfter the extinction of their kingdom, the Khazars dispersed. They established themselves in Venice and Genoa and from the Venetian and Genoese oligarchies they began marrying into the Royal houses of Europe. Khazar and Sephardim Jews (who were often Canaanites) dispersed throughout central Europe, retaining their religious identity. Many Khazars were embroiled in warfare against Russia for around a thousand years. The assassination of Stalin brought about the demise of their power over Russia.
According to the previously cited Jewish encyclopedias, it was these Khazar Jews who were the progenitors of the vast majority of today's Jewish people, particularly today's Zionist Jews who claim right to the land of Israel, including that which was previously owned and controlled by the Palestinian Arabs. Consequently, the majority of today's Jewish people are known as "Jews" not because they are descended from Jacob/Israel but rather because their Edomite/Khazar progenitors adopted the religion of Judaism. The authors of The Jewish Almanac (1980) obviously recognized that today's Jews are rarely genetic Israelites. The first chapter is entitled "IDENTITY CRISIS." The first sentence succinctly admits to this anthropological fact:
Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a "Jew" or to call a contemporary Jew an "Israelite" or a "Hebrew." "IDENTITY CRISIS," The Jewish Almanac , compiled and edited by Richard Siegel and Carl Rheins (New York, NY: Bantam Books, 1980) p. 3
This fact is confirmed by several other Jewish sources such as The Jewish Encyclopedia (1905), The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia (1941), the Encyclopaedia Judaica (1971), The New Standard Jewish Encyclopedia (1977), as well as individual Jewish authors such as Nathan M. Pollock, Professor of Medieval Jewish History of Tel Aviv, Bernard Lazare, Robert Quillan, Dr. Benjamin Freedman, Arthur Koestler, James Yaffe, Paul Meyer and many more.
There is not a person in the whole English-speaking world today who regards a "Jew" as a "Judean" in the literal sense of the Word. That was the correct and only meaning of the word in the 18th century . . . (Facts Are Facts, by Benjamin H. Freedman, p. 15-21).
Almost no Jew is a Hebrew and Israelite by descent, or even a Semite. According to the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, Jewish rabbis and historians, all Jewish and Gentile encyclopaedias, the mass of so-called or self-styled Jews who follow the Pharisaic traditions may be traced to their vicarious father. Though these so-called Jews teach this doctrine of the original sin, found in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, they also teach we Goyim or non-Jews are "human cattle," animals God created in human form in order to serve the Jews (Midrasch Talpioth; Yebamoth 98a; Schene Luchoth Haberith, p. 250b).
So if the meaning of the word "Jew" in our Bible is not the same as the colloquial idiom, and if modern day so-called Jews are not the Jews of the Bible, who are they? When asked, "Who is Israel? - Who is a Jew?" the Israeli Government's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) unhesitatingly answered:
"The term Israelite is purely Biblical. An Israeli is a citizen of Israel, regardless of religion. A Jew is a person anywhere in the world born to a Jewish mother, or converted to Judaism, who is thus identified as a member of the Jewish people and religion" (Information Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jerusalem; February, 1998).
The Jewish Almanac concurs: "Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a "Jew." Or to call a contemporary Jew [an] "Israelite," or a "Hebrew." The first Hebrews were not have been Jews at all, and contemporary Palestinians, by their own definition of the term "Palestinian," have to include Jews among their own people" (The Jewish Almanac, October, 1980, page 3, Bantam Books, Inc).
The Online Etymology Dictionary describes the etymology of the word 'jew,' but perhaps because its editor is not a Bible student it exhibits an ignorance of the meaning of the original Greek word Ioudaios derived from the Aramaic jehudhai which did not refer to members of the tribe of Judah but to Judeans, the residents of the Babylonian province of Judea. The spelling of our present-day English word Jew is a transliteration of an abbreviation or slang word coined by their Babylonian conquerors for Judeans without reference to the race or religion of the captives. The editor has inadvertently discriminated the Semitic tribesmen of the sons of Israel from the diverse mass of races and religions then resident in Judea by applying the incorrect colloquial idiom, not having recognized the true and Biblical meaning of the original words.
Who Are The IsraelitesIf today's Jews are non-Israelites, then who exactly are today's genetic Israelites? The Israelites have not ceased to exist as some people teach, for the Bible teaches that up until the end times they would be 'lost'. If they have ceased to exist, then God is not true to His Word because He promised that they would never cease as a nation before him:
Thus saith God, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar…. If those ordinances depart from before me, saith God, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever…. If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith God. (Jeremiah 31:35-37)
Although most contemporary Israelites are oblivious to their own identity, God has not forgotten who they are:
…O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen … thou art my servant: I have formed thee…. O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. (Isaiah 44:1-21)
It is impossible for God to forget Israel or He could never fulfill His Word as found, for example, in Jeremiah 31:
Behold, the days come, saith God, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the [Mosaic] covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith God. (Jeremiah 31:31-32)
So where are the true Israelites, God's chosen people, and how can we identify them? Numerous Old Testament prophets give vital clues as to their identity:
1. Israel was to spread abroad to the West, East, North and South. (Gen. 28:14; Isaiah 42:5,6)
2. Israel was to have a new home (other than Palestine where they were already living when these prophecies were given). (II Samuel 7:10; I Chronicles 17:9)
3. Israel was to live in islands and coasts of the earth to the north and west of their location in Old Testament times. (Isaiah 41:1; 49:1-3; 51:5; Jeremiah 31:7-10)
4. Israel was to become a company of nations. (Gen. 17:4-6; 15, 16; 35:11; 48:19; Ephesians 2:12)
5. Israel was to colonize and spread abroad. (Gen. 28:14; 49:22; Deut. 32:8; 33:17; Psalm 2:8; Isaiah 26:15; 27:6; 54:2; Zechariah 10:8-9)
6. Israel was to have a new name. (Isaiah 62:2; 65:15; Hosea 2:17)
7. Israel was to have a new language. (Isaiah 28:11; Zeph. 3:9)
8. Israel was to have a new religion (New Covenant). (Hebrews 8:10-13; 9:17; Matthew 10:5-7; Luke 1:77; 2:32; 22:20; John 11:49-52; Galatians 3:13)
9. Israel was to be called the sons of God. (i.e. Christians) (Hosea 1:10-11)
10. Israel was to possess God's Holy Spirit as well as His Word. (Isaiah 44:3; 59:21; Haggai 2:5)
As well as helping us identify who the true Israelites, God's chosen people, really are, these prophesies also make it quite clear that it is not modern day Israel. None of the ten attributes above describe modern day Israel.
Take a globe and draw circles around the landmasses wherein true Christianity has flourished, and you will find that your circles encompass those nations primarily comprised of Celtic, Germanic, Scandinavian, Anglo-Saxon and kindred peoples. Either these peoples comprise Israel or God has not been true to His word, and He has established His New Covenant with someone other than those to whom He promised the New Covenant. God was and still is true to His word, and it has been the Celto-Saxon peoples who, in accordance with Jeremiah's prophecy, have most readily embraced the New Covenant religion of Christianity. They above all peoples have been most responsive to Christ's call of salvation over the last two-thousand years. In fact, the other nations would be oblivious to Christianity had it not been for the Celto-Saxons' proliferation of the New Covenant message.
The Consequences of MisidentificationBecause America has misidentified Israel and consequently backed the Zionist movement, many in the Arab world have become the avowed enemies of both Israelis and Americans alike. As described in The Jewish Almanac , we, indeed, have an identity crisis as it concerns those involved in the events of September 11. And we will continue to have this crisis and the horrific consequences that accompany these cases of misidentification until we figure out "who is who" as it pertains to Ishmael, Edom and Israel.
The ArabsWe have been told by government and mainline media sources that Arab factions were involved in this September 11, 2001 attack upon America. But who are today's Arabs? Where did they come from? And why do they hate America so much that they have labeled it "the head of the serpent" and "the Great Satan"?
From Genesis 12 forward, the Bible is the story of Abraham and his descendants. The Arab people, although darkened over the centuries from mixing with darker races, are originally descended from Abraham. Under the heading "Ishmael," The Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia points to this Abrahamic connection:
Ishmael: In the Old Testament, the elder son of the Hebrew patriarch Abraham … and the reputed ancestor of a group of Arabian tribes…. The region occupied by these Ishmaelites included most of central and northern Arabia. Muslims regard themselves as the descendants of Ishmael. "Ishmael," The Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia (New York, NY: Funk & Wagnalls, Inc., 1972) Vol. 13, p. 461
Under the heading "ISHMAELITE," The Zondervan Pictorial Bible Dictionary confirms this genetic link with Abraham:
ISHMAELITE … a descendant of Ishmael, the son of Abraham and Hagar…. The 12 sons of Ishmael, and his Egyptian wife, became princes and progenitors of as many tribes…. All Arabs, following Mohammed's example, claim descent from Ishmael. "ISHMAELITE," The Zondervan Pictorial Bible Dictionary (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House, 1963) p. 387
Under the heading "ISHMAELITES," The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia further establishes this same biblical connection:
ISHMAELITES, a people frequently mentioned in the Bible, for example in Gen. 37:25 and Judges 8:24; they were Arab nomads who traded with Egypt…. According to Gen. 25:12-18, the Ishmaelites (like the Israelites) were divided into twelve tribes and pitched their tents in Northern Arabia as far as the borders of Egypt and Assyria…. The Arabs themselves derive their descent from Ishmael. "ISHMAELITES," The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia (New York, NY: The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, Inc., 1941) Vol. 5, pp. 609-610
As the biblical story goes, Abraham had another son, Isaac, by his wife Sarah. Therefore, although only a half brother to Isaac, Ishmael would have been the uncle of Esau and Jacob, Isaac's twin sons. Hence, Ishmael's descendants, the Arabs, are also related to Esau's and Jacob's descendants, the Edomites and the Israelites.
