Eveleigh Railway Workshops, Redfern, NSW
The Eveleigh Railway Workshops in the inner suburban Sydney suburb of Redfern are some of the finest historic railway engineering workshops in the world and Eveleigh contains one of the most complete late 19th century and early 20th century forge installations, collection of cranes and power systems, in particular the hydraulic system.

The Workshops Rail Museum, Ipswich, Qld
The Workshops Rail Museum is located within the former North Ipswich Railway Workshops, Queensland. The Ipswich Railway Workshops is the only Australian rail yard still in operation from the 1800s. In its early days The Workshops was a centre for rail construction and maintenance, and by 1950 had built more than 200 steam locomotives, establishing its own sawmill and powerhouse to provide raw materials and energy. Visitors to the site can see the heritage powerhouse, timekeepers building and worker’s canteen, and The Workshops’ boiler shop where the Museum is housed.

Midland Railway Workshops, Midland, WA
The Midland Railway Workshops ran for close to a century on the Eastern fringe of Perth, Western Australia. Large and multifaceted, the Workshops were vital to the development and maintenance of the West Australian rail system, and a crucial training ground for skilled tradespeople. Their closure in 1994 brought to an end not only a specific industrial complex but also a complex social community.
Seymour Railway Workshops, Vic
Seymour Railway Station was constructed in 1874 on the Melbourne-Wodonga line. It is a unique and essentially intact example of the most extravagant railway station and servicing complex on the North Eastern railway. A locomotive depot previously operated north of the station. Today, it is the home of the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre, and is still used to stable V/Line trains. The station also had a goods yard opposite the main passenger platform.

The heritage-listed Junee railway station, located on the Main South line in New South Wales, serves the town of Junee in the Junee Shire. The Junee Roundshouse is now a railway museum. Junee Railway Workshop Pty Ltd. is a privately owned accredited rail operator that repairs, maintains and services railway locomotives and rolling stock in Junee NSW offering the most complete rail service between Sydney and Melbourne. Providing fuel, consumables and facilities for routine and emergency repairs to rail operators, they also offer an extensive storage facility for rail and rail related assets.
