Ferries will take you to many parts of the harbour and Parramatta River. In addition to ferries, there are harbour cruises run by various operators, and water taxis. To catch trains, buses, ferries and light rail in Sydney and surrounding areas you will need an Opal card or Opal single ticket.

Take the 30 minute ferry ride from Cronulla to this slow paced village located in Royal National Park on the shores of Port Hacking opposite Cronulla. It is a great desination for a day or half day outing or as a base for adventurers wishing to explore the Park in detail. Bundeena began life as a fishing village and has managed to retain its rural charm thanks to its isolated position on the northern boundary of Royal National Park.

If you'd like a peaceful day travelling the waters of the Hawkesbury River, Broken Bay, Pittwater and the Central Coast, there are plenty of opportunities to choose from. These opportunities are considerably limited (and not as easy to co-ordinate) if you are coming to the Lower Hawkesbury or The Central Coast from Sydney by public train, but you can still have a great day on the water with a little careful planning. They operate a daily run to and from Newport School, and deliver newspapers to wharves in the morning and mail in the afternoon. A ferry departs from Church Point hourly, and calls at Scotland Island. Western Foreshore stops include: Elvina Bay, Halls Wharf (access to Morning Bay), and Lovett Bay.
